The Indian Super League (Known as Hero Indian Super League for sponsorship reasons) is a new, proposed football league in India by IMG-Reliance (a joint venture of IMG and Reliance Industries) and the All India Football Federation.
Kick off date : 19.11.2014
Proposal for this type of league in Indian Football was given by Baichung Bhutia.
Indian Super League is expected to be competed by eight franchises with each team featuring one major marquee player. Unlike IPL however, there will not be any player auctions but franchises will pick players by "Draft System" modelled on the MLS Draft. The tournament has been criticized by many observers for the threat it poses to India's premier football division, the I-League. Greg Gillin, the Facilities Director of Wembley Stadium is to review all venues for the league.
The eight cities which were selected to host teams are Bangalore, Delhi, Goa, Guwahati, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune..
The following table shows some basic data for all the teams which is taken from Wikipedia.
